Body Disposal Form

Before a person climbs Mount Everest, they must fill-out something called a “Body Disposal Form.” In this form, the climber says what they want done with their body if they die while they’re on the mountain.

There are three choices — leave it on the mountain, have it cremated, or have it sent back home.

Please read this Body Disposal Form. Even though it is for a mountain that is near Everest called Cho Oyu, it is similar to Everest’s form.

If you were going to climb Everest, which choice would you make and why?

Only answer this question if you feel comfortable writing about it! It’s okay not to answer this question. Also, if you want to answer the question but don’t want it published here, that’s okay, too. Just say that in your response and Mr. Ferlazzo will be the only person to read it.

One thing that i found interesting is that five climbers on Everest had been killed in the same storm.

  6. I would climb knowing that i could die just to feel the thrill and excitement.I would have my body sent back home and if not possible then I’ll have it left on the mountain.

My choice would be leave my bodu where i died because i wouldn’t want my family to worry about giving me a funeral if im far from home and second i really do not want to be created like who would want to be burned to ashes

  10. If you were going to climb Everest, which choice would you make and why? I would not choose to climb Everest. Because it is scary enough to just fill out that form, and also there are little chances of staying alive.

  11. First of all, why would i want to climb Everest for when your going to come back down anyway?(if i make it back alive). I mean i wouldn’t even think about climbing it when i don’t even want to climb a tree, i’m afraid of heights and yup but if i did climb Everest and i did die on the mountain, i want my body to be “Repatriation” because i want my family to know that i died.

  12. If you were going to climb Everest, which choice would you make and why?
-I wouldn’t even climb Mount Everest in the first place and filling out the paper is just crazy.

  13. i would never climb mount Everest because i am scare of dying and i am scare of when you are in a high place you look down it is really scary so i don’t want to kill myself that badly

  14. I would want my body to sent back home if I die because I want my family or my relatives to see me for the last time.

  15. I would probably choose my body to be left on the mountain because I don’t want my parents to be spending money to have my body sent back home. But I wouldn’t even try climbing it at the first place.

  16. I wouldn’t leave my body on the mountain because people might steal my pretty face in the snow. 😉
