Compare & Contrast: Gary Soto & Pablo Neruda
Gary Soto & Pablo Neruda are two Latino poets. Although there are similarities between them, there are also many differences.
Some similar things that they have in common are figurative language, columns and one language used. For example, in “sorrow as though you had died” Pablo Neruda writes. In “the bride and groom are the first to cut into the cake” Gary Soto writes.
Although, there are similar, they have also differences, Gary Soto is more of a young people writer and uses Spanish in his poems. Also writes about common objects. Pablo Neruda writes about older people and in columns but sometimes, in one. His poems are more depressing and serious.
These are just some of the similarities and differences between this two poets. Both of these poets are very interesting to learn about and there poems are goog to read.
i like pablo nerudo bacause his more discription. pablo nerudo has shorter words,but in tge same time garry oto is coool because his poems are easy to understand . they both are poets and goog ones too. they both published books, however their writting has difference.
they both are the same because they both know spanish. they both write about love too. they both use descritive language and especally personification.
there diffrent because pablo nerudo dont really use spanish words and gary soto does. gary soto wrote more books then nerudo too.

they both use figurative language for example, in “ode to fireworks” Gary Sotto writes “and black pills that vomit snakes of ash.” Pablo in “ode to the artichoke” pablo neruda writes “the tende-hearted artichoke got dressed as a warrior.” they are also latinos. they both write into two columns.
Although sotto writes mostly in English and uses some phrases in spanish. neruda writes only in English (no spanish) Also, soto is only light hearted, not super serious. neruda is very serious and makes his writings for more adult rating, while soto writes like for teenage rating. Also, soto writes about common objects or everyday events , neruda erites about more serious emotions.
these are just some of the similarities and differences of these two writers. they are both a very good writers and smart.

Gary Soto and Pablo Neruda are two Latin poets. There are similarities between them, there are also many differences.
The similarities between Gary Soto and Pablo Neruda are they are both write in 2 columns, written in English, and both uses figurative language like personification, metaphor, and simile.
The differences between Gary Soto and Pablo Neruda are Neruda sometimes writes in 1 column, Soto writes everyday things while Neruda writes serious things, Neruda mostly writes personification, Soto writes sometimes in Spanish while Neruda writes all in English, Soto is light-hearted and Neruda is serious, and Soto’s audience is young people while Neruda’s audience is old people.
They both use figurative language for example, in “Ode to Los Raspados” Gary Soto writes “His daughter with hair that swings like jump ropes.” In Ode to my suit” Pablo writes,” You flap and rustle in the wind as if you were my soul.” Although there are differences, there are also similarities like Soto being light-hearted and Neruda being serious.

Soto and Neruda are two famous writers. There are other similarities between them, there are also many differences.
Both writers use descriptive language- personification. For example, in Soto’s “ode to Pablo’s tennis shoes” it says, ‘to cool his shoes the tongues handing out, exhausted.” Other example of personification language is in Neruda’s “laziness” ode that says “laziness appeared naked she led me off dazzled and sleepy…”
But there are also a lot of differences in their writing one of the differences is that Soto odes are easy to understand, and Neruda uses hard words so is a little harder to understand. Another difference is that Soto uses Spanish words with translations and he write about culture but Neruda writes about love. Neruda also writes at a higher level.
These are just some of the differences and similarities between these two writers. I like both writers they good at. Which one do you like?

For example, in “Ode to Pablo’s Tennis Shoes,” Gary Soto writes,” He wants to be like his shoes, a little dirty from the road. In “Ode to Laziness,” Pablo Neruda writes, ”Sometimes the fog was pregnant with the light like topaz.”
Although there are some similarities between Gary Soto and Pablo Neruda, there are also some differences. Gary Soto writes about common day objects or common events. He also uses some Spanish phrases and he’s a light-hearted writer. Soto’s audience are younger people. For Pablo Neruda, he sometimes write in 1 column. He also writes about more serious and emotional stuff. Mostly, he uses personification and his audience are older people.
There are just some similarities and differences between these two poets. Both are very talented writers.

Gary Soto and Pablo Neruda are two great poets. They write about a lot of interesting stuff, events, or whatever they put their minds to. Although there are other similarities between them, there are also many differences.
Both Soto and Neruda use figurative languages. For example from Neruda’s “ode to the Artichoke, “the tender-hearted artichoke got dressed as a warrior”, this shows a personification. Also in Soto’s “ode to Los Raspados”, “sun bright as a hot dime”, this shows a simile. Some more similarities that they both have is mostly writing in English and also when they write their ode’s they mostly put it in two separate columns. Further more they both are two very good and interesting poets.
Even though there are some similarities, there are also differences, one major difference as about being light hearted or not light hearted dealing with if they are emotionally serious or just plain lighthearted. Gary Soto for instance, he is lighthearted as in he doesn’t write about serious things like emotions or anything, he writes about daily objects, or events. For example from his “ode to los Raspados”, “hair that swings like jump ropes” shows that he is lighthearted. He is lighthearted because he mostly writes about common objects, or even everyday events. Gary Sot is a lighthearted writer.
On the other hand Pablo Neruda is not a lighthearted writer, he writes about emotionally serious things. For example from his “ode to Sadness” , “sadness, scarab with seven crippled feet, spider-web egg, scrambled-brained ret, bitchs skeleton.” This shows that he writes about emotionally serious things because he writes about his sadness. Also another difference about them is their audience that is reading their odes. For Gary Soto his audience is younger people and for Pablo Neruda it’s for mature adult people. They both have similarities, but also differences.
Both Gary Soto and Pablo Neruda are different and similar in many ways, but also in good ways. They both are good poets who write about many events, objects, and even emotions. Gary Soto and Pablo Neruda are both two great poets who love to write.

For example, in “Ode to Fireworks,” Gary Soto writes, “with a haircut like devil horns.” Here is another example from Neruda, in, “Ode to Laziness,” Pablo Neruda writes, “the fog was pregnant with a light topaz.” Another similarity is that both Latino poets write their poems mostly in English.
Although there are similarities, there are also differences, Soto is lighthearted and write about tennis shoes and ice cream. Neruda is more serious and writes about emotions and about love. There are some other differences as well, Neruda’s poems are written in two columns and one column, and
Soto’s poems are just written in two columns. On the other hand, Soto writes mostly in English, but he sometimes uses some Spanish phrases, except for Neruda he writes in English. As a result, Soto’s poems grab children’s and teens attention, and Neruda’s poems grabs older people (adults).
These are just some of the similarities and differences between these two Latino poets. Both Latino poets are very good at writing poems, and are great to read.

Gary Soto and Pablo Neruda are two latino poets. Although there are many similarities between these two great poets, there are also many differences between them as well.
First I will list some differences that there are between Soto and Neruda. Soto writes in two columns. He also writes about common objects in life, like every day events that may take place. He also writes most of his work in English although he tends to add in some Spanish phrases that sometimes are common. Another differences the type of audience that the work is intended for. Like Soto’s work is intended for younger audiences more light hearted.
Now I’m going to be naming some of Neruda’s differences from Soto’s work. Neruda tends to sometimes write in two columns, he also writes in just one. He also writes about more serious stuff that’s sometimes emotional, that is more intended for older people like adults. Neruda only writes in English.
Now I’ll be naming some similarities between Soto and Neruda. They both have a language that they often use and that’s English. They both also use figurative language like similes, metaphors, and personification. Another thing that they have in common is that there audiences are humans.
In conclusion I think that both Soto and Neruda are great passionate poets that put a lot of time and effort into the work that they do and it really shows how good poets they really are because in some of their work as I read a poem I actually get to visualize a lot of details as I read along the columns.

Both Soto and Nerudo use figurative language such as simile, metaphor, and personification. They usually write in two colum. When Soto say “The sun is bright as a hot dime,” and when Nerudo say “the fog was pregnant with light,” they were using figurative language.
Although there are many similarities, there are also a lot of differences. One thing is that Pablo writes about common objects or everyday events and Neruda wries about more serious stuffs such as emotion. Pablo is light-hearted, not super serious and for Neruda the audience is older people.
These are just some of the similarities and difference between these two poets. They both are very good poets, and wonderful to read or listen to.
Soto vs. Neruda
Gary Soto and Pablo Neruda are similar. They also have many differences. They both have differences that you don’t even know. They also have similarities you also don’t know.
Gary Soto and Pablo Neruda write their odes using similes, metaphors, and personification. For example the “Ode to Weddings” by Soto has an example of a simile like the fancy napkins on the tables floating like flowers. Neruda shows an example of a simile in the ‘Ode to laziness” by writing it was smooth, very smooth like a birds breast. They both mostly right their odes in English sometimes some words in Spanish.
Just like there are many similarities there are many differences between the both poet and story writers. Gary Soto writes his odes with a more light hearted touch to the reader. For example in the “Ode to Weddings” by Soto it talks about how weddings are fun weddings are and how you get to get to know you’re in laws. Soto’s odes are for any age group preferably for children. In Neruda’s “Ode to My Suit” Neruda describes very depressing things and it is boring for kids his type of stories are preferably for teenagers or adults.
All in all they are both very similar so what they have a few differences that separate them. They are both poets, Hispanics, creative, and both have great imagination. They can both teach young and older readers more about themselves and the people around them. They both have great odes.
