Emotional intellegience is how well you can react to your own or somone’s elses emotions. It’s how well you know your own emotions. According to the survey, i cam reasonable good at identifying emotions and dealing with them, however, there are still room for improvement. With a greater Emotional knowledge, one can understand others and deal with other’s emotions. One can also understand themselves and why they are feeling that way.
my score for the test was that: i am are reasonably skilled when it comes to the core ability of identifying, perceiving and expressing emotions in yourself and others. There is still, however, room for growth. Overall, my skills in this area of emotional intelligence aid me in the process of reading others, understanding how they feel, and effectively identifying my own emotions. These skills form the basis of my ability to relate to the emotions of others as well as well as my ability to understand myself.
1)The learning theory that applies to my math teacher, Ms.Moore, is Behaviorism. Ms.Moore is my IB Methods teacher for my junior year. Although it is only two months into school, I am able to describe the learning theory that she applies to the students. In the classroom, she states that student should respect one another. When she assigns a math problem, she will walk around mysteriously and quietly. Ms.Moore is a behaviorist and it is quite effective because it creates a friendly environment.
2)The survey that the class had taken was sort of accurate. It also states that I like to work with people and sometimes alone. I am not a musical student, although I did play the clarinet for a year but it was for P.E credits. In the survey, I was said to be a linguistic, logical-mathematic, and naturalist student, which it pretty true. I do think that I am a student related to these topics.
1. The learning theories I see some of my instructors apply is behaviorism. The instructors will act a certain way in order to have a specific reaction from the students. For example, my TOK instructor uses the phrase “ Ago” in order to fetch the students’ attention with the reply from the students “ame”. In my opinion constructivism is a efficient approach to teaching for me because working with a partner and hearing opinions from my peers can allow me to have another perspective on any topic.
2. The results of the quiz are fair. It isn’t entirely accurate as music is 69% and linguistic is 75%. I believe that I learn quite well when music is used as an example, aside that I learn well visually. I do not learn so well by listening alone. I learn by visual and part linguistic and examples that are fairly easy to relate to or understand.
1. The learning theory that I see most of my teachers use is humanism and constructivism. My science, English, and TOK teacher are humanist. My science teacher only lectures us once or twice a week. The rest of the week, he wants us to explore and figure out why physics works the way it does. He doesn’t tell us the answer right away. He wants to figure it out ourselves. My English teacher makes sure that we communicate among the class. She wants us to explore others opinions in order to build our own opinions. My TOK teacher encourages us to question our thinking and our peers thinking. He wants us to know ‘why’ and ‘how’. On the other hand, my history and math teacher are constructive. My history teacher doesn’t allow us to raise our hands unless he asks us to. He lectures most of the period but he also lets us discuss with our partners. My math teacher instructs us to write notes and then assigns us math problems. After we solve the problem, we discuss our work to see if we answered the problem correctly. The only teacher that teaches differently is my Spanish teacher. My Spanish teacher is behaviorist. She gives us rewards when we work appropriately, but she also punishes us when we make mistakes. This style is effective for language classes because learning a new language is simply memorization and practice. The more practice we have in improving our mistakes, the faster we learn.
-The teaching approach that seems most effective to me is the behaviorism even if it is not my favorite approach. I learn better if I am told what to do. If I am told what to do, I can figure it out as I go on. I also learn by fixing my mistakes as a punishment. If I am told that I have a mistake and I need to fix it, I do my best to not make the same mistake again. My favorite teaching approach is the humanism approach. I like to have the freedom to learn on my own and taking risks. But this is not an effective way for me to learn.
2. The learning style quiz was somewhat accurate for me. The top three intelligences I had were visual-spatial 83%, linguistic 75%, and interpersonal 69%. I am visual-spatial because I am imaginative and creative. At home, I organize and change my room frequently. I enjoy being a changed environment. Organization and creativity are effective ways for me to learn. I am also linguistic because I enjoy reading and figuring out the secret meanings that are hidden in text. I also enjoy letting my emotions out on paper. The final characteristic I have is interpersonal. I communicate effectively with others and I like to socialize. I feel that this survey helped me to narrow the type of intelligences I have.
A learning theory of constructivism applied by one of my teachers is Mr. Coey…the class of Theory of Knowledge (TOK). Basically it’s a student centered learning where students’ independent learning are based “on personal experiences and hypotheses of the environment.” Like often Mr. Coey would have the class discuss to their partners or group members about a Theory of Knowledge topic. Another example is writing our TOK assignment of a certain chapter…each one would due usually on the next arriving Monday. So often before on the day it’s due, each student would individually take responsibility to read the assigned chapter(s) and gain their own learning and understanding of what they earned. And so when I answer the questions in my writing assessment, I reflect on from what I’ve personally read, learned, and understood about. This would probably be the most effective for I can personally seek learning from myself, despite being limited with perspective and interpretations.
The results of the quiz that I’ve taken are quite accurate I’ll personally admit. Although I was unsure with several of the questions I answered, that would be considered lying. Unfortunately, this would be the downfall of humans taking surveys as in referring to human psychology, for we wouldn’t be able to know whether humans lied or not. I definitely do agree that I am mostly marked as interpersonal, for I often get remarks from my friends that I can socialize really well around people, getting along with them and developing friendly relationships. One of the least percentages that I too agreed on is being involved logical-mathematical situations…I’d consider myself average in math. However, when it gets down to common sense, or solving mathematical problems in physics, I overthink and I tend to overwork the problems out. It’s one of my tragic flaws…
1. In first period we have Mr. Hopkins, he’s likely Cognitivism. He follows with what the plan says and teaches on with the curriculum. For example, this morning we were writing notes on Abraham Lincoln and he told us exactly that “the IB program wants you to learn……” etc. Second period we have Ms. Synhorst, she can get creative with the projects or the topics we talk about. That makes her greater at Multiple Intelligences Theory because she sees the world in ways other don’t due to her own perspective. For example would be the IOP (Individual Oral Presentation), she doesn’t tell us exactly what to do. She exclaims that we can use our creativity to make our oral interesting about the book The Joy Luck Club. An example of Behaviorism would be my Spanish teacher, Senora Millard. She can be demanding depending on what lesson we are learning. She makes sure that we are working and on task but if we were not to do what we were told to consequence may happen. Mr. Coey on the other hand is a greater extends at Multiple Intelligence Theory, just like Ms. Synhorst. They both know how to throw in creativity with the educational work we do and are open minded towards the world. From the past few years in high school I believe that the most affective that helped me effectively would be the Multiple Intelligence Theory. It mostly helps me because I get to use my own creativity to understand what exactly we’re learning. It affects my mind to stay processed in order to not get bored or get of task.
2. The accuracy of the answers from my test is mostly true. The highest percent that I got on my test was Musical, I got 100% and from that I believe that it’s true because I do love music. The second highest I got was interpersonal, I believe that’s true to because do talk to my peers and I do communicate well among them. I make friends easily during the day because it’s hard for me not to. I’m just that type of person that needs new people in my life to make it brighter! The type of learner I am is probably a person who interacts with people and sharing ideas help me out. Sharing information gets me to creative my own topic of idea and from that I can handle everything else. I also learn more easier when I have examples to guide me along the way and to push creativity into the work. Most of the time , like when it comes to essays, I enjoy writing them because I get to put my own thinking into the context and write what I believe.
My teachers use various learning theories. Mr. Coey is a behaviorist, and a constructivist. He taught the class to pay attention to the person who yelled out “Ago!” He also let his students discuss their ideas in groups multiple times a day. On the other hand, Ms. Synhorst is a cognitivist, and a humanist. She let her students choose they do their IOP, and suggests that we should do it creatively, but she doesn’t force them. She also ask for the reason why we didn’t do our homework, like that one time when a student couldn’t do his homework on the internet because he didn’t have access to internet at home. Ms. Synhorst gave him an extension on his assignment.
The results are pretty accurate to what I know about myself. I know that I am a logical-mathematical learner, and the result show that I’m about 88%.
1. I see my teachers using numerous kinds of teaching styles but main styles are: Cognitivism and Behaviorism. My English teachers i.e. Mr. Coey and Ms. Synhorst use this technique called Socratic Seminar where the students take part in sharing ideas and actually contributing to other ideas which is an example of Cognitivism. We the students attempt to think about connections and understanding. Ms. Millard is a Behaviorism. She hands us a list or tells us to write down notes and study. She expects us to follow her orders otherwise we receive homework wars which in term are the stimuli because it creates this feeling of punishment. Because of this we strive to complete our tasks. The style that works effectively to me is Behaviorism because it forces me to follow the task at hand.
2. According to the results, I am mainly a Linguistic learner. I believe that these results are only about 50% accurate. My reason is because there are answers that I am unable to answer which in terms affect the answer.
2. According to the results of my learning style quiz I am 92% linguistic learner, 69% logical mathematical, and 67% visual spatial. I would agree entirely, except for the fact that I kind of made up some of my responses, so these results are a bit ‘fudged.’ I do enjoy reading and writing, and I often process my thinking as a writer. It’s totally nerd-bomb to say this, but I love writing essays. As a child, I reveled in the process of solving mathematical equations, and I was one of the best math students in my school. Math came very easily to me until per-calculus. I blame my teacher for not relating to me. Sad face. I know for certain that I have visual-spatial intelligence because I can completely navigate my way out of a corn maze or any European city! My wife is lucky to have me.

1. One of the many theories that teachers apply to our learning experiences is cognitivism. Many teachers use this kind of theory because it tends to focus on the students more rather than the teacher themselves. Cognitivism relies on mental activities and active participation in order to get the best possible learning experience. This means that a student must be able to use mental processes like thinking and problem-solving to learn. For teachers, this basically relates to everyday discussions and lessons because for example, Mr. Coey constantly asks his students to think and discuss among their neighbors to further elaborate their understanding on the topic. By constantly participating and thinking, students learn more efficiently and effectively because their actions benefits their mental processes.
My teachers use a variety of learning theories. The behaviorist teachers include Mr. Hopkins, with his dull and impersonal history-based worksheets, and Ms. DeAnda, who frequently employs high-decibel Spanish phrases to command attention and obedience. On the other end of the spectrum, teachers who follow cognitivism include Ms. Synhorst and Mr. Coey, encouraging free-thinking and creativity in the classroom. Creativity can be anything from an interpretive dance to the composition of a song.
I, being a logical yet highly visual learner, learn at maximum efficiency when the subject is in physical form, and I can interact with it physically, especially being able to deconstruct and/or reconstruct said object. I can visualize most things fairly easily, and prefer to figure out the solution on my own. I especially remember a fact or answer if I have gotten it wrong, as this is a rare occurance.
1. I’m seeing my teachers apply all the learning theories, except cognitivism. Humanism applies to my English teacher because she’s understanding and she makes sure she communicates with us. My Spanish teacher is a behaviorist because she has expectations. When we walk into class, we start on our warm ups. On the days our article summaries are due, we have to have it memorized and have our summaries ready in case she calls on us. I would say that behaviorism, humanism, and constructivism are the most effective to me.
2. After the learning style quiz, the results are somewhat accurate. I am musical, interpersonal, and linguistic at a certain time. I learn when teachers communicate and understand me, when teachers guide me as I explore, and when I am required to have my work done by a specific time. It seems as if I learn better when my teachers aren’t so strict, but aren’t so lenient to the point where if I didn’t turn in any work, I’d still pass the class. The way my teachers teach are effective to me because the learning theories vary between my teachers.
1) Behaviorism and constructivism are most common in my teachers this junior year.For example Ms. Deanda has a behavorist teaching trait which is similar to a dictatorship and is effective. Even though she means well, it’s still intimidating and terrifying. On the other hand, Mr. Sisneros has a constructivism teaching trait which is also effective. constructivism works best with the way I learn.
1) I believe that that behaviorism and cognitivism is common with most of my teachers and that humanism and constrctivism go along with the rest of my teachers. For example my spanish teacher, Ms de’anda is behaviorism because she is intimidating and the effect of her intimidation works on the class.
2) I believe that the most effective way of learning for me would be collaberative learning because when you work togeather as a group you not only get a answer but you also get the opinions and the ideas of your other group members
The learning theories that I see my teachers using the most are Behaviorism and Multiple Intelligence Theory. I see Behaviorism mainly in Spanish teachers and physical education teachers. They mainly use the theory when it arrives to classwork, homework, and tests. I see that English and elective type teachers use the Multiple Intelligence Theory the most, especially when it arrives to projects and presentations. A suitable example of a teacher who supports and encourages students to learn and present projects in the students own way is Ms. Synhorst. Currently, there are students working on their IOPs [Individual Oral Presentation] on the novel ‘The Joy Luck Club.’ She has told us to “whatever you want as long as it ties with your IOP topic,” and thus the students have started to create diverse presentations based upon their talents: Music, Dance, etc.
Based upon the ‘What Is Your Learning Style?’ quiz, my learning style is Linguistic, Visual-Spatial, and Musical. I agree with these quiz results, since I need subjects to be told to be in solid understandable words. I also need to be able to draw or listen to music in order to memorize and understand a subject or concept that is being taught.
The Learning Style that teachers approach that is most effective for me is telling me exactly what they are attempting at making me understand and what it is I am supposed to receive from the lesson being taught. It also helps that all my teachers allow me to draw while I listen and work, since it allows me to understand and memorize all that is being said and taught by the teacher.
1. Ms. Moore is a teacher that seems to use the learning theory of humanism because she is someone who takes time to understand her students and care for their own personal needs of learning with dignity. She sees the potential in different individuals and approaches her students in the way that appeals to them.
2. The learning approach that seem to work best with me learning style is visual-spatial because I have an understanding of the visual world and its relation to physical items, I believe I am good at solving spatial problems, designing, and doing crafts. I like to organize with color, for example, I use different color pens, highlighters, paper, and things of that sort.
